The default size for a thumbnail photo in Windows Explorer in XP is 96 x 96 pixels. If you find this to be smaller than you'd like, you can change it quite easily, up to 256 x 256 pixels, by using a free tool from Microsoft called Tweakui. You can download Tweakui from Microsoft at this web site: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-xp Scroll down once there until you find Tweakui. When you download, you will get a file called TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe. Just run it to install Tweakui. Tweakui will appear in your Start/All Programs menu.

Someplace I read that this will only affect new photos and not existing photos. I found that this changed (enlarged) the size of existing photos as well. Good news, and a little easier on the eyes too!

Picking Out a Laptop in the Brave, New World of Tablets
Now that is a very timely and catchy title for this article by Walt Mossberg of the WSJ. The presence of a multitude of tablets in the marketplace sure does complicate the issue of buying a laptop.
"It is too soon to replace my twice-yearly laptop buyer’s guides with tablet buyer’s guides, but some days it feels like I should. Much of the energy that companies once poured into laptop designs and advances seems to have been drained off into a massive race to create tablet computers."
